The Library provides quality of life support, mission support to base and tenant organizations, and also supports Education. A library card allows active duty, retired military, dependents, DoD civilians and contractors a wide range of products and services. The Library has over 100 periodical titles, including children's magazines, as well as current publications and
best-selling books, both fiction and non-fiction. Many new books arrive each month. The NetLibrary online web site offers over 3000 eBook titles; also offered are Overdrive audio book downloads, and Playaway digital audio books.
A computer lab offers numerous online resources, e-mail, and free printing. Online databases, which allow access to thousands of magazines, books and newspapers, include: Country Watch, Aviation Week, EBSCO, Gale Group, PressDisplay, Jane's Online, News Bank, Reference USA, and Sirs; practice CLEP and DSST online practice tests are available on Peterson's
website. The Library Education Section offers a comprehensive collection of updated Test Prep books, CLEP and DANTES (DSST) study guides, and language CDs and tapes. CSAF Reading List and Air War College books are provided.
There are more than 1000 adult and children's audio books, 3200 educational and recreational videos, and 1000 music CDs. Interlibrary loan service provides access to the collections of many other libraries. Story Time meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 11:30 am for preschool children and early elementary children. The Library hosts a free paperback exchange book program. A coin-operated, self-service fax and copy machine is
also available. (This is also the recent update that I submitted for the Beale Guidebook).
