BECOMING A PROVIDER
The Beale AFB Family Child Care office is currently seeking individuals who are nurturing and caring people to become licensed child care providers for the children of the Beale AFB community. If you are a base housing resident, a spouse of an active duty or retired military member, at least 18 years of age, enjoy working with children, and perhaps would like to supplement the family income, please consider contacting the Family Child Care Program at (530) 634-5655 or contact us by e-mail to schedule an interview. All training, licensing, and support materials are provided for you at no cost!

Becoming an FCC provider allows you to access a wonderful support network. It is our goal to ensure that families are provided quality child care. The Air Force has required individuals to become licensed if they are providing care for children in their homes for more than 10 hours a week on a regular or recurring basis. When a base housing resident fails to obtain a license, the matter is referred to higher authorities. This can result in lose of base housing privileges.

Providers receive extensive training in Child Development, Positive Guidance Techniques, CPR, First Aid, Health, Safety, Fire Prevention, Nutrition, Reporting of Child Abuse, and Food handling before they can obtain a license.

There are two types of licenses

Standard License:
A Standard license is good for 12 months. The provider can accept a maximum of six (6), including their own under the age of 8, children at any given time. The provider must complete all 15 training modules within 18 months. All providers may have up to two (2) children under the age of 2 at one time.

Accredited License:
An Accredited license given to the provider who has been Accredited by the National Family Child Care Association and has met all the Air Force standards. The provider can accept a maximum of six (6) children, including their own under the age of 8, at any given time. All providers may have up to two (2) children under the age of 2 at one time.
