Outdoor Adventure Center
7:00 AM–8:00 PM
Cost $40
Age Limit: 10 and up
Sign-up deadline: 10 February.
Spend this Valentine’s Day doing something truly romantic and extraordinary. First we will snowshoe into an ancient grove of Giant Sierra Redwood trees. A Sierra redwood may contain enough wood to build 40 five-room homes; may weigh 4,000 tons; be as tall as the Statue of Liberty and can have diameters in excess of 30 feet! On the way back home, you will be dropped off in historic downtown Murphys where you can visit any of the numerous wineries and grab a bite to eat in one of the great restaurants. Don’t forget to stop by the historic Murphys Hotel Saloon where a warm fire burns in the old fashioned pot bellied stove while patrons gather at the 30 foot long wooden bar to enjoy house made appetizers and a wide variety of cocktails.
Trip includes snowshoe rental and roundtrip transportation. OAC will fit your gear the day you sign up for the trip – please allow a few extra minutes for this service. You will need a good pair of hiking boots or waterproof style boots to properly fit your snowshoes. 634-2054
